Bree – Bree is a second freshener this year, so this is only her second year being milked. She is a sweet, beautiful doe and I absolutely adore her. She is mother to Sage and Kaylee. Bree brings several great things to my foundation stock: gentle temperament, delicate/refined confirmation (known as Dairy Character/Strength in the show ring), a long frame, good milk capacity (producing about a gallon a day), easy to hand milk, and quietness (Nubians are known for being extremely vocal).
Ayana – Ayana is also a second freshener this year, she is mother to Honeysuckle. Ayana is quite the character; she is a ham for attention and will love you forever if you scratch her neck. Although Ayana is a little noisier than Bree, she has some wonderful traits that I would like to keep in my herd: friendly temperament, great milk capacity (Ayana gives about a gallon a day, her mother gives over a gallon and a half!), and very easy to hand milk.
Sage – Sage is a yearling doe who hasn’t been bred yet. Sage takes after her mom, Bree, quite a bit! She is sweet and has delicate features. Sage has already learned how to get up on the milk stand and stand quietly, and I can’t wait to milk her next year.
Luna- Luna is also a yearling doe; she is half-sister to Sage (they have the same sire/dad). Luna is niece to Ayana, and she takes after Ayana’s personality a little bit. Luna is a little more outgoing than Sage, and if you don’t notice her, she’ll tug on your clothes to let you know she wants attention!
